At Black Country Women’s Aid, we listen, we support and we care.

We help women, men and children from the West Midlands to escape from violence, recover from trauma and start again.

Domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking can happen to anyone at any stage of their lives. 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, for men the figure is 1 in 10.
1 in 20 children will be sexually abused, that’s at least one child in every classroom in the country.

At Black Country Women’s Aid we help victims to become survivors.

We provide integrated support services including refuge, therapy, advocacy and advice and help with housing, benefits, education and training and employment.

We provide free food and toiletries to victims who may be escaping with only the clothes on their back. And we have a specialist service called Ask Mark for male victims.

At Black Country Women’s Aid we also have the skills and expertise to help your company. Aside from the very personal, painful effects on the victim, the social and economic cost of domestic abuse in this country stands at £66 billion a year. People suffering physical and psychological harm can be less productive at work or be stopped from working all together by a coercive or violent perpetrator.

We advise companies on how to support staff in abusive situations, from agreeing safety plans to implementing safeguarding policies, to training employees to recognise abusive and stalking behaviours and how to implement trauma-informed environments.
